Lemon Balm Plant

Description

Lemon Balm is a perennial (comes back every year) herb in the mint family. It has a mild lemon smell and taste, is great chopped fresh in a salad or with fish, and makes a tasty calming tea that we like best right before bedtime. It flourishes in a sunny spot in fertile soil. It grows well in containers too. Although related to mint, it does not spread by underground runners. Give your plant space to grow, as it will spread out (plant 24″ from it’s neighbors) and grow 24-36 inches tall! Harvest regularly to help your plant fill out and get bushy.
